Finally arrived in sunny San Antonio Bay at 5am this morning, two hours later than scheduled, thanks to a two-hour delay in baggage loading at Gatwick airport and a very long taxi queue at Ibiza Airport. We were just grateful that the flight took off at all as many had been cancelled at the North Terminal, most others were delayed by an hour or two. Queuing to get into the departure lounge at Gatwick was as long as the queue getting into JFK arrivals, took about an hour as everybody gets body searched now, and even shoes have to go through the scanner (watch for the increase in veruca transmissions). The plane had its fair share of drunks slapping the backsides of the air stewardesses but that´s to be expected I guess on a flight to Ibiza.

Had a bit of a scout around San Antonio bay this afternoon after watching ‘Bay Watch’ in Spanish, but been a bit too tired to venture far. Sank a couple of beers in one or two bars whilst watching the football action on Sky Sports before updating my fantasy football team in the hotel ‘cyber-corner’ (The Bellamar Hotel - will blog it when we leave). Suzie_Q stayed by the pool sunning herself after dragging me around one or two odd ‘holiday shops’ the sort that have poorly worded signs like ’Children’s Do Not Touch’ (I wanted to ask why the children left these goods in the shop if they didn´t want anybody else to touch them).

Not sure what we´ll make of this place by the end of our break, lots of ‘very English’ people here, the type of blokes who wander topless with their beer guts hanging over their Union Jack shorts and obese topless women by the pool - neither a pretty sight. Got woken up early this morning by a group of English tourists singing ‘When the Saints Go Marching In’… Suzie_Q, bless her, thought it was ‘When the ants go marching in’.
