Hi Paula, I think it’s only with hindsight and experience that we’re able to recognise those special people that have helped us most in achieving our goals. When I heard of Jim’s passing I was sad that I hadn’t been able to thank him personally, but was thankful to at least make his funeral and say goodbye. Quite weird to find that your son goes to my old school with my friend Gary’s daughter too… life’s weird sometimes. Best wishes. Matt

Dear Mat, I was just surfing and came accross your website. It was really moving for me to read your words about my father, I didn’t know he had helped you in those ways, but it was typical of him not to blow his own trumpet. It would have given him much pleasure to know he helped you…even though he would never have said much to anybody about it. Thank you for your tribute – Paula (nee tappenden)
